2009
Ohio Main Street Application – January 2009. Prepared by members of the Downtown Tipp City Partnership in an effort to gain Ohio Main Street status through Heritage Ohio, a statewide, not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and assisting people and organizations to protect and preserve our heritage. Historic preservation and downtown revitalization are vitally important in the movements to protect the buildings, landscapes, art, artifacts and landmarks we have inherited. Historic preservation and downtown revitalization enrich our quality of life, enhance our neighborhoods and revitalize communities as better places in which to live, work, invest and visit!
Antiques and Artisans Show – June 2009. Tipp City’s 6th Annual Antiques and Artisans Day Show was held Saturday, June 27th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This art and antique festival showcased over 100 local and regional artists and vendors. Events included the Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market, a Pancake Breakfast, the Classic Car Show, and Spaghetti Dinner. Busy Downtown Shops and Restaurants on Main Street in the Historic Shopping District. Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market 2009 Season – May to September 2009. Presented by the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, the second year of the Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market was a rousing success and drew support from sponsors Cincinnati Bell, Willowtree Inn and Spring Hill Nursuries. Check out our dedicated Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market website for more information and updates.- Tippecanoe Canal Jumpers – August 2009 to September 2009.
Vintage base ball+ Tipp City = a perfect Sunday afternoon. Created as a throw back to the olden days, the Partnership assisted in the creation of the Tippecanoe Canal Jumpers and watched them take on the Kettering Clodbusters in this vintage game. The Canal Jumpers later played two more games in September in Dayton and are forming a team to compete in 2010! Obtaining federal tax-exempt status was a critical step in the forming of the Downtown Tipp
City Partnership as a nonprofit organization — most of the real benefits of being a nonprofit flow from an organizations 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, such as the tax-deductibility of donations, access to grant money, and income and property tax exemptions. The Partnership is pleased to announce that after 17 months of intense efforts, countless phone calls and applications, and much finger-crossing, we have achieved our 501(c)3 status. - Tippecanoe HarvestFest 2009 – October 2009.
The Third Annual HarvestFest in historic Downtown Tipp City was held Saturday, October 31 (the Day itself!) from 7-11 PM, rain or shine. Beer and soft drinks were served. You must be 21 WITH PROPER ID to pick your poison. Beer, and soft drinks were available, as were commemorative posters and other items. Come in costume and compete in our costume contests! SPONSORED BY: DTCP, Cincinnati Bell.- Windows on Tippecanoe – May 2008 to September 2008., a local arts event that created and displayed over 100 local works of art, then auctioned them off to raise funds to create a local Arts group. The Downtown Tipp City Partnership and Tipp Monroe Community Services proudly presented Windows on Tippecanoe, a summer-long art installation
located in historic downtown Tipp City during the summer months of 2008. The event, also listed on Discover Ohio, attracted many visitors to Tipp City. Upwards of 50 of these original creations adorned a downtown local building for the public and visitors to view and enjoy. This celebration of our local community through art was displayed from June 14 to September 21st in downtown Tipp City. Near the close of the installation, a Windows on Tippecanoe Gala was held, and invited guests and locals were invited to participate in a live auction of the artworks. A Winter’s Yuletide Gathering – November 2008. Just when it looked like the year’s-old event would be canceled for the first time, local merchants and the Partnership stepped in and saved the event, turning a potential devastating loss to the community into a successful local event. The weekend of November 8-9, downtown Tipp City hosted “A Winter’s Yuletide Gathering.” This traditional shopkeeper’s open house event kicks off the holiday shopping season. Visitors enjoyed a festive holiday atmosphere, complete with carriage rides and strolling carolers. Click HERE to download our Event Flyer. - Homes for the Holidays Tour – December 2008. Tipp City held it’s annual Old Tippecanoe Holiday Festival on December 6th, which included a coordinated series of Holiday-themed events presented by the Partnership, Tipp Monroe Community Services, the Tipp City Area Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations.

Presented by the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, the first year of the Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market was a rousing success and drew great feedback from customers and praise from local residents and businesses alike. In fact, so many folks have asked about it, we decided to bring it back in 2008 ! Check out our Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market website for more information and updates. - Tipp City Community Guide – September 2007. The Partnership produced a new version of the Tipp City Community Guide, a 24-page full color booklet about Tipp City and the benefits of living in or locating a business in Tipp. The last version of the Guide was produced by the Tipp Chamber in 1990 and much of the information was out of date.

The “Old Tippecanoe Holiday Festival” is a series of Holiday-themed events in the historic Tipp City downtown area. Come out and have some fun! “Old Tippecanoe Holiday Festival”, a project of the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, in Tipp City on Saturday, December 1, 2007, Featured events included Breakfast with Santa at Broadway Elementary, the “Homes for the Holidays” Tour, and the Old Tippecanoe Tree Lighting and Christmas Concert by the Tipp City Community Band. This annual holiday event features carriage rides, strolling carolers, downtown shopping and dining. Children’s activities and childcare are available. 2006
Tipp City Visitor’s Bureau – July 2006. The Partnership voted in 2006 to establish the Tipp City Visitor’s Bureau, a volunteer-run organization dedicated to promoting the downtown and greater Tipp City by creating an interactive website to highlight local businesses, restaurants, and events and to promote the town of Tipp City and its delightful and vibrant downtown. The website, located at www.visittippcity.org, has been in operation ever since and highlights events listings, and includes up-to-date shop and restaurant listings for the downtown area and Tipp City at large. The site is owned and operated by the TCVB and written and maintained by Greg Enslen, director of the Visitor’s Bureau. Parking Signage Improvement Project – August 2006. The Partnership worked with the City in producing a comprehensive Parking Report, which outlined the number and location of all available parking spaces in the downtown, then outlined suggested signage to assist local residents and out-of-town visitors in finding public parking. business owners and residents on local TV show “Bucher’s Beat” at Grounds for Pleasure in support of 2006 Winter’s Gathering. - Homes for the Holidays 2006 – December 2006. The Homes for the Holidays Tour, co-sponsored by the Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) and Tipp-Monroe Community Services (TMCS) was a huge success. After a 3-year hiatus, this year’s event sold close to 400 tickets and generated over $1,200 for TMCS.
